Carb question for diabetics?
I know most foods come with a carb count on the nutrition label but I am newly diabetic and having a difficult time figuring it out. Like on cherrios cereal, it says 8% carbohydrates (I think) and a similar count on whole grain breads but I understood anything whole grain or wheat to be good for diabetics. So would 8% be acceptable? Is there a certain percent, like if I saw 24% on some boxed food, that would def be something I want to stay away from? What is the percent of carb could be considered a cut off? The "carb exchange" thing in all the cook books aren't really helping opposed to confusing me.
